This is a lovely pair of George I Period Sterling Silver Trencher Salts, made in London in 1726. They are of classic design, of elongated octagonal form with molded rim and base. The salt cellars are each hallmarked on the underside of the base with an indistinguishable maker’s mark of ?P(due to the positioning of where the hallmark was struck), London mark, Sterling standard mark and the date letter “L” for 1726. Set 4 open salt dishes made in London 1809 by the well known firm Eames and Barnard. Rectangular in shape on a stepped paw foot. Very fine gadroon and shell edge. These are totally hand made. Each salt fully hallmark on the sides. Nice Patina. Very good condition. Weight 17 Troy Ounces. Height 2 inches, length 4 ½ inches.

A pair of Antique Gorham Coin Silver (900/1000) open salt cellars formed in the decorative shape of slatted basket and mounted at each handle with a large figural cherub (putti). This is one of the best pairs of salts we have ever owned. Made by Gorham Mfg. Corp. Providence Rhode Island, circa 1865, fully hallmarked lovely patina, excellent condition. 8.5 troy ounces. Very heavy weight, diameter of basket 2 1/8", height 2 1/8", width 3 1/4" (cherub to cherub).

This pair of silver double salt cellars was made by Felix Horovitz of Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Felix Horovitz worked in Frankfurt between 1900 and 1935. The salts are fully hallmarked with the maker’s mark and touchmark for German silver. The silver frames are in the neoclassical style with cut purple and clear glass liners.
