The sterling silver mug was made by Gorham Mfg. Co. of Providence, RI in 1901 and was retailed by Black, Starr & Frost. This mug is a prime example of the art of shaving from a bygone era. The mug is fully hallmarked with Gorham’s maker’s mark, Sterling, date mark for 1901, and pattern #A2587M on the underside of the base. This is an unusual English Sterling Silver Covered Shaving Mug, made during the Edward VII period in Sheffield, England in 1905. The mug retains its original sterling pierced liner for the soap. The lid, mug and liner are appropriately hallmarked. The body is mounted with a spout and geometric strap form handle. The whole is raised on 3 trefoil shaped feet. The mug and liner are in excellent condition. Height: 5 1/2 Inches. Weight: 10 Troy Ounces.

An Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Mug decorated with a Persian influenced band at its’ base and a matte “butler” finish engraved with fauna, a butterfly and dragonflies. Engraved with the name “Alice” in script. Made by Gorham Mfg. Co., Providence, R.I., dated 1882. Fully Hallmarked with the Gorham stamps as well as the “O” date mark. Perfect Condition. Excellent Patina. 7 Troy Ounces. Height- 4 1/8 in. Width- 3 ¼ in.

Fine large 1887 mug with excellent work around the body of the cup. Nicely worked handle, gilded interior. Fully hallmarked on the base with the Gorham hallmarks, Sterling, style number 4067 and the date mark we believe is for 1887. 3 3/8 inches to top of the handle. Nice patina.

This is a handsome coin silver mug by Philadelphia silversmiths R&W Wilson with a patriotic design. This small circular mug has a plain, partially facetted body with a hefty C-scroll handle and with a plain and flat circular hinged lid. The lid is surmounted by a cast finial in the shape of an eagle. This mug is in excellent condition and has a gold wash interior.
