This Circa 1920 sterling baby safety pin holder was used when safety pins were in fashion to secure diapers. It is a small rectangular shape, has an applied safety pin made out of sterling on the hinged cover, and the words “Baby’s Friend”are also engraved on the cover. The sides of the box are completely covered with three rows of flowers and leaves, and it stands on four ball feet. It measures 3 ½ inches wide and stands 1 inch high. Fine quality Chinese Silver case. Beautiful scenes on both the front and back. The top on a push button hinge. Beautiful soft gilding on the outside and inside, the piece looks like it is gold. Very nice condition. No hallmark we can find. 3” x 2 ¼” x 1 inch.
Very nicely worked sugar box made in Europe in the late 19th century. The whole body with alternating fluted panels, plain and then decorated with roses. Figural rose finial. Cover on a hinge. Set on 4 figural rose feet. Very heavy at 19 troy ounces. 6 ½ inches by 4 ½ inches by 6 inches high. Full marked on bottom and inside edge of the cover. Excellent condition.
