This circa 1920 sterling cigarette case has the head of a horse engraved on the cover. The engraving portrays the texture of a real horse. It is marked Sterling with American maker marks. It measures 4 1/2" long by 3" wide. It has a weight of 5 ounces. It is gilded on the inside. It is in excellent condition.

This is a very unusual Japanese sterling silver cigarette case. Both sides are engraved with the most wonderful Japanese figures. One side shows 4 figures serenading a reclining scribe. The other side shows 3 figures very well executed. The case opens in an unusual way, placing fingers on both sides of the case one side slides up and then the case opens. A fine art deco sterling silver cigarette case made by the R. Blackington Co of Attleboro Ma. The case of exceptional weight at 6 1/2 troy ounces. The front and back of the case with beautiful symetrical art deco line decoration. A monogram plate on the front so the piece can be personalized. The interior gilded in excellent condition. This Russian silver cigar or cigarette case is beautifully cast, chased and repousse with the “Personification of Industry” on the hinged lid. The interior is silver gilt, the base of the interior is hallmarked with the maker’s mark “AA”, and the kokoshnik mark for pieces made in Moscow in the 84 zolotnik standard from 1908-1917.
