Chased and engraved ornament: Fluid leaf set in scrolling-leaf frame alternating with quatrefoil leaf over stippled lunettes. Rosette-inset guilloche rim. Engraved armorial with Latin motto “Patriis virtutibus” (that is, “By hereditary virtues”). A suitably aristocratic sentiment for such a sumptuous set.
