Pair of Victorian Classical sterling silver low candlesticks. Made by Richard Hodd & Son in London in 1881. Each: Ovoid socket with bobeche on spool support mounted to stepped square base with scrolling leaves at corners. In low relief draped matrons bearing wreaths and olive branches. Beading and leaf-and-dart. Fully marked. Very good condition.

Pair of English Victorian Classical sterling silver low candlesticks. Made by Hawksworth, Eyre & Co Ltd in Sheffield in 1896. Each: Ovoid socket on raised foot mounted to pillar on stepped square foot. Urn and pillar fluted; pillar has acid-etched ribbon-tied oval (vacant) on each side. Engraved interlaced script monogram. Fully marked. Very good condition.

Set of 4 German Rococo Classical 800 silver candlesticks, ca 1900. Each: Cast figural shaft in form of adroitly-draped, bare-bottomed cherub standing on chubby, stubby legs with arms outspread, holding a floral garland. Ovoid socket with detachable bobeche and double-domed foot. Chased and engraved ornament with figures, masks, lion heads, and leaves. Socket mounted with cast ram heads. Pair of Antique Russian Classical Silver Candlesticks, ca 1888. Each: Round socket; flared rim mounted with pierced and scalloped border. Baluster spool socket with floral garland knop and leaf flanges on domed foot mounted to square base. Chased and tooled leaf-and-dart ornament. Marks include assayer’s stamp (Josef Sosnkowski) dated 1888, city stamp (St Petersburg), and 84 alloy stamp (that is, 84/96 or 875 silver). Very good condition.

Pair of Edwardian Classical sterling silver candlesticks. Made by Barbour Silver Co. (part of International) in Hartford, ca 1910. Each: Tapering socket with flat and detachable bobeche; raised foot. Faceted. Engraved floral and zigzag bands. Lobed vertical frames. Reeded foot rim. Fully marked including Barbour and International stamps and retailer’s stamp (JE Caldwell) as well as no. 1317/29. Very good condition.

Pair of pretty Austrian Biedermeier Classical silver candlesticks, 1863. Each: Tapering socket with turned-down rim and overhanging base mounted to knopped baluster shaft on domed and curvilinear foot with stippled flowers at corners. Fluting and lobing. Perfect for reading Goethe by candlelight. Marks include dated Viennese assay stamp indicating 13 loths (that is 812.5 silver) and maker’s initials IC. Very good condition.

Tapering socket with detachable bobeche. Ribboned swags. Fine fluting that shimmers in candlelight. Fully marked including maker's stamp, pattern no. 19187 (first produced in 1916), director’s letter m, and phrase “Reproduction Original by John Parsons & Co. Sheffield 1784”. Very good condition.

Each: Urn socket with detachable bobeche on spool and ovoid shaft; raised foot with 4 cast beaded-scroll paw supports. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, pattern no. 16156 (first produced in 1905), and director’s letter C (1902-7). Very good condition.
