Sterling silver bowl with bold ornament. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York, ca 1884. Round with curved sides and foot ring. Double narrow gadroons alternating with single wide gadroon. At rim chased and repousse band of stylized and imbricated chevrons (or leaves). This pattern sometimes called Wave Edge. Hallmark includes pattern no. 8060 (first produced in 1884) and director’s letter M (1873-91). Fine condition.

Wonderful sterling silver & mixed metal bowl. Made by Gorham in Providence in 1882. Round with tapering sides and allover hand hammering visible on interior and exterior. Fruiting branch with overhanging cherries applied to one side. On other a dog (golden retriever) stands on granulated soil while watching birds in flight. There is also a good size butterfly. Interior richly gilt. Hallmark includes date letter, no. 1845, and phrase Sterling / other metals. Excellent condition.
