Aesthetic sterling silver centerpiece bowl. Oval with curved sides, short stem, and oval foot. On each end are applied oak leaves and acorn as well as perched bird with raised beak and warbling throat. Stylized ornament. Well center has engraved circular frame (vacant) bordered by flowers. Raised ornamental bands with diaper and egg-and-dart on stem and foot. Marked “925 Sterling” and “Ford”. Ford & Tupper was a New York retailer active 1867-74. Very good condition.

Bowl set in well of sterling silver stand with wide shoulder and reeded rim. Cover and stand have acid-etched Adams-style paterae and beribboned garlands.
