Applied to bowl are coiled serpent and wings. Bowl interior and ornament gilt. Rectilinear terminal engraved with personal name or place (Lyman) and year 1871. A desirable piece in the rare Egyptian Revival pattern. In leather-bound and silk-lined case. Hallmark from last quarter of 19th century. Very good condition.

Curved handle terminating in oval medallion applied with centurion’s head on engraved linear ground. A great piece by a regional maker in the fashionable classical motif. The stylized flower and leaf mounts are forward-looking touches. Pointed ovoid bowl.

Hallmarked Bailey & Co. (1846-78). Very good condition with rich patina.
