Matched set 4 English Sterling Silver knife rests by George Angel made in London 1862. Set on 2 figural Lyre supports with a twisted rope design attaching the supports. The Lyre supports ending with 2 figural Eagle heads. Nice weight. Fully hallmarked on the bottom of the twisted rope design. 1 1/4 inches tall by 2 5/8 inches long. Nice old Patina.

This is an impressive and most unusual Victorian presentation trophy, beautifully made of sterling silver gilt in the form of an amphora vase and handsomely decorated all around with a wide frieze of acid-etched decoration depicting Greco-Romano scenes set between assorted bands of both abstract and geometric forms. At the base of the neck, between the gracefully curving handles, an inscription in large, distinctively shaded upper case letters boldly proclaims the words “Wexford Hunt Club Chall...
