George III sterling silver sugar basket. Made by Hester Bateman in London in 1784. Ovoid bowl with c-scroll swing handle and raised foot. Pierced colonnade and rinceaux as well as ovals inset with paterae. Engraved garland. Beading. Cobalt glass liner. With tongs: U-form with acorn jaws, bright-cut ornament, and engraved armorial.

Basket fully marked. Tongs marked with sterling standard mark and maker’s stamp. Very good condition with deep patina. Basket rim has minor chip.

Elizabeth II sterling silver box. Made by Mappin & Webb in Birmingham in 1965. Rectangular with straight sides. Cover hinged with flat top and scalloped tab. Interior cedar-lined and partitioned. Underside leather-lined. Fully marked. Very good condition.

Chased and engraved bucolic scene with hounds racing through an orchard. A later Victorian homage to the tranquility of rural life. An even later engraved presentation in the frame formed by the leafing, overhanging trees: “Palm Beach Golf Club / Florida / State Championship / 1916 / First Prize / Runner Up / Won By”. No name... Pair of Victorian Classical sterling silver low candlesticks. Made by Richard Hodd & Son in London in 1881. Each: Ovoid socket with bobeche on spool support mounted to stepped square base with scrolling leaves at corners. In low relief draped matrons bearing wreaths and olive branches. Beading and leaf-and-dart. Fully marked. Very good condition.

Pretty English Modern sterling silver vase, 1937. Straight and tapering sides with curved bottom; overhanging mouth has wavy curvilinear rim with applied reeding. Stepped and domed foot; foot underside wood lined. Fully marked including Birmingham assay stamp, Boodle & Dunthorne maker’s stamp, and phrase “Boodle & Dunthorne / Liverpool”. Very good condition.
