Edwardian sterling silver bowl. Made by James Dixon & Sons in Sheffield in 1907. Bellied bowl with flat rim, solid rectilinear support, and raised quatrefoil petal support. Finely pierced ornament, including scrolls, leaves, and diaper inset with fleurs de lys. Solid frames vacant. Bowl rim gadrooned. A beautiful piece by a renowned maker. Very good condition.

Double-sided ornament on handle with carved flowers and strapwork on stippled ground – stylish though a tad old fashioned at the turn of the century. Terminal reverse has engraved armorial. Hallmarked. Good condition with age-related wear and rubbing. It’s been used and can continue to be used for another couple centuries.
