Top and front have allover engine-turned ground and are bisected by applied molded bands. Cover interior gilt. Box interior cedar lined with open leather-lined bottom. Fully marked, including retailer's stamp ("Robinson & Co. Shrewsbury"). Very good condition.

Each: A rifle is propped against a shilling coin dated 1899, the year war broke out in South Africa between the British and Dutch colonial settlements.
