This elegant Antique set of 6 Chinese Silver Coffee Spoons was made circa 1890. Each spoon is hallmarked “SF” for the maker, 90 for the silver standard and a Chinese character mark. The bowl of the spoon is of plain design. The stem is wrapped from the midsection to the terminal with a thick wire form piece of silver. The stem is finished with a wreath form plaque centering a Chinese character. Length: 4 5/8 Inches. Weight: 2.75 Troy Ounces. Excellent Condition.

The exterior of the tapered cylindrical tankard is repousse and chased with a genre scene depicting the story of a battle and citizens paying homage to their leader. This is the best piece of Chinese silver we have ever come across. A very large figural group of a gate set on a very nice rosewood base. The gate comprises 4 circular columns with piercing, decorated flowers and 2 dragons. This is the finest silver and enamel chinese centerpiece bowl we have seen. Set on a ring foot with a fluted edge to the top. The enamel work is done in cloisonne enamel. All of the decoration is done with fine applied wirework with the spaces inbetween filled with a wonderful selection of colors.
