One of the finest pieces we have owned – An antique Japanese silver and enamel centerpiece bowl with world’s fair provenance. Made by Miyanoti Katsu in Tokyo, ca 1904. Curved sides with interior fluting and scalloped rim. Foot has same. Sides exterior decorated with hanging bunches of wisteria and irises rising out of water with paddling ducks, and flying birds. Antique Chinese gold covered box with semi-precious stones. Rectangular with curved corners . Finely chased and repousse ornament on stippled ground. Box and cover top have wraparound floral garland. Cover top has semi-precious stones inset in form of butterfly in oval. Cover sides have wraparound leaf band. Sumptuous with rich color and fine detail. Gold tests for 22K. Marked.
