Acid-etched frieze depicting sailor-suited, flag-holding, all-American boy with exotic coevals in native dress relegated to background. Symbolic imagery enhanced with verse: “Little Indian, Sioux or Crow, little frosty Eskimo, little Turk or Japanese—Oh! Don’t you wish that you were me?”

Edwardian sterling silver porringer. Made by McChesney in Newark, ca 1910. Round with straight sides, flat rim, and curved bottom; Tapering handle; center open and inset with curvilinear ornament. Sides exterior have engraved and acid-etched Mother Goose scenes including Old King Cole, Simple Simon, and Little Tom Tucker, cherished characters in olden days pre-industrial fashion, with the men wearing breeches, their woolen-stockinged calves dangling out of the rectangular frames. Midcentury Modern sterling silver porringer. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York. Round with straight sides, flared rim, and chamfered and tapering solid handle. Frieze with birds, bunnies, and kitties dancing paw in wing. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, postwar pattern no. 25991, and phrase “Hand Chased”. Very good condition.

Classical coin silver baby cup. Made by Eoff & Connor, a partnership active in New York from 1833 to 1835. Bellied bowl with drum-form neck, flared rim, and capped s-scroll handle; raised and stepped foot. Shaped frame (vacant) with chased scrolling leaf surround, and leaf and flower bands. Foot has cast egg-and-dart border. Handwork visible on interior. Lovely with strong regional association. Marks include “J.H. Connor” and “G. Eoff” stamps. Very good condition with nice... Victorian sterling silver baby cup. Made by George John Richards in London in 1853. Baluster bowl with leaf-capped double-scroll handle and scrolled skirted foot. Embossed vegetation clusters in engraved leafing scroll frames; a third frame vacant. Fully marked. Very good condition.

Victorian sterling silver baby cup. Made by Gorham in Providence, ca 1890. Straight and gently upward tapering sides and scroll-bracket handle. Applied cast oval medallions that depict not austere Roman patricians and their virtuous helpmates but sailor-suited boys and kitty-clutching girls. A sweet rejuvenation of the influential Medallion pattern. Gilt-washed interior. Fully marked including maker’s stamp and no. A7822. Excellent condition.

Turn-of-the-century Art Nouveau sterling silver 3-piece baby set. Made by Kerr in Newark. This set comprises cup, bowl, and plate. Acid-etched tree-framed fairytale scenes depicting beguiling maidens, stooped crones, and credulous children. Two monogram frames (vacant) on cup and bowl. Fully marked including maker’s and retailer’s (Spaulding & Co.) stamps and no. 4568. Very good condition.

Classical coin silver christening mug. Made by Tifft & Whiting in North Attleboro, Mass., ca 1850. Straight and tapering sides with beaded rims. Three names and 3 birthyears (1851, 1877, and 1908) engraved in leafing scrolled frame. Leaf-capped s-scroll handle. Maker’s stamp and phrase “Pure Silver Coin”. Good condition with attractive period wear and nicely sunk engraving.
